Mortgage Compliance Professionals Association of America (MCPAOA) is an organization for Mortgage Compliance Professionals by Mortgage Compliance Professionals.

Our association consist of a diverse membership of regulatory compliance professionals, in-house legal counsels, risk management, Quality Assurance, and loan servicing compliance professionals who work for the nations’ state and federal chartered banks, and credit unions, the nations’ independent mortgage banking firms and other mortgage industry professionals who support the efforts of the Mortgage Compliance Professionals Association of America.

Who Is MCPAOA?

Our mission is to provide a forum for members to enhance their professional skills, to keep up with current trends, peer to peer sharing and exchanging of ideas and best practices, monthly and annual meetings to bring forth the latest issues that will help members to better execute their day to day business responsibilities in order to help improve their institution’s performance and financial stability.  To support and to work directly with the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) in its advocacy for legislative and regulatory issues in order for the industry to have one voice with one vision, when it comes to speaking to the legislative and regulatory bodies of government.
Twelve 11 Media publishes Mortgage Compliance Magazine and Mortgage Women Magazine – the only magazines that focus specifically on compliance professionals and on women in the mortgage industry. Publisher Ben Slayton has more than 50 years of experience in mortgage compliance, and is the spearhead behind Mortgage Compliance Professionals Association of America.

Some organizations combine total years of experience and don’t approach what Ben Slayton has done as a mortgage compliance professional. For more than 50 years, Ben has served in different compliance management capacities, and is currently publisher of Mortgage Compliance Magazine. He is also Chief Compliance Officer for Alterra Home Loans, where he is responsible for all Legal Issues, Regulatory Compliance, Quality Assurance and Risk Management for the company and is a member of the company’s senior management Committee.

Burton has more than 30 years in the financial and mortgage banking industry with more than 25 of those years focusing on mortgage compliance and quality assurance matters, He has become a nationally recognized compliance leader in the mortgage industry having been a successful regulatory compliance executive for industry leading mortgage lending companies such as GE Capital Mortgage, Banc One Financial Services, NationsCredit and Franklin American Mortgage Company. Burton is an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Committee where he formerly served as the Chair of the Regulatory Compliance Subcommittee(2013-2015.) He is also an active member of the State Legislative and Regulatory Committee and the Quality Assurance subcommittee of the Mortgage Bankers Association, and the Mortgage Quality & Compliance Committee of the California Mortgage Bankers Association. He is also a member of the Mortgage Compliance Magazine Advisory Board.
